Cork claim Munster championship victory in Thurles

Cork produced yet another master class today to claim Munster Championship for the first time since 2014. This young side have produced the goods throughout the Munster Championship campaign and have without a doubt been in the form team across the country.

It was that man again Patrick Horgan turning on the style throughout the game with a total tally of 0-13, and also creating Cork history by over taken ‘The Great’ Christy Ring to become Cork’s all time leading scorer.

45,558 spectators at Semple Stadium witnessed an high entertaining Munster Final between Cork and Clare. Cork showed aggression from the start and yet again there defense looked solid throughout the epic clash. Patrick Horgan’s big scoring presence as always had a massive impact on Clare and they couldn’t find the answers. The very impressive Alan Cadogan scored a vital goal for the rebels in the first half and ended his total tally with 1-04. Barrs man and Cork Fullback Damien Cahalane was a massive presence for the Rebel’s and showed dominance throughout. Special mentions and great displays from Christopher Joyce and Seamus Harnedy and Mark Coleman who also played fantastic games.

Cork will play in the All Ireland Semi Final at Croke Park on August 13th.
