Video – EFL Championship Drill Show (International Break)

Derby Take over complete what can we expect. An early prediction for 3 to go up and 3 to go down.

Cardiff v Bristol City 0-1 A very early goal for Martin after good work by O’Dowda and Semeydo was enough for the win, but Cardiff will wonder how they lost this one they dominated the chances. Stoke v Reading Campbell, Fletcher and brown for Stoke, Reading who had an insane chance conversion rate coming into this game but they missed a few very good chances early on, Stoke scored with their first real attack of the game and with their 2nd shot on target were 2 up, Reading dominated the ball but most of the game was played between the halfway line and the Stoke box where for me Soutter was outstanding.

Birmingham v Bournemouth 1-3 Danjuma and two from brooks for Bournemouth before Hogan pulled back a consolation goal for the blues, Bournemouth never looked like losing this game and to be honest could have had a few more goals, Stanislas again was great for them with a nice assist for the first and solanke was a handful. A good bounce back from Bournemouth after the game with Wednesday, they are now 4th with what was only their 2nd win in 7 games, Birmingham slip to 17th with what is now a 4th defeat in 7 games.

Blackburn v QPR 3-1 Brereton, and two from Armstrong for Blackburn with Dykes from the spot bringing QPR level. Blackburn dominated the first half and should of maybe taken the lead with the 3 or 4 decent efforts they had, it must have been a worry given their goalscoring drought recently, QPR had a great chance to take the lead but the effort from Todd Kane, Armstrong being back will have delighted Blackburn fans and his two gaols here give him 12 goals in his last 12 games and 11 in the league this season. Chris Willock had a decent chance for QPR and on another day they might have escaped with a draw but overall Blackburn deserved the win, Blackburn move up to 12th and QPR are now in 18th having won their previous two games before this one.

Brentford v Middlesbrough 0-0 Not the most exciting of games to be honest, Boro were a very hard team for Brentford to break down and that is not surprising given that they have only conceded 5 goals this season and this was a 6th clean sheet in 11 games. Brentford did have the best of it but Akpom almost stole the win for Boro at the end. Boro are now 7th in the table while Brentford have not really kicked on yet this year and sit in 11th albeit only 3 points out of the playoffs.

Derby v Barnsley 0-2 Goals from Chaplin and Adeboyejo for Barnsley gave them a deserved win, Derby dominated the game in terms of possession but Barnsley made the most of their time on the ball, in truth Derby looked extremely nervous out of ideas and while they did give it a go they were simply not good enough really Huddersfield v Luton1-1 Moncur gave Luton the lead before a first goal for Eiting who is on loan from Ajax gave Huddersfield a very deserved point, Luton had their chances as well moncur with a chance to give himself another, Koroma had a goal disallowed for offside before he basically seemed to try to take on luton single handily and had a number of decent efforts before they did equalise.

Norwich v Swansea 1-0 A huge win for Norwich but both teams showed just how good they are, Jerry has been talking of Krul all season and again today he made some great saves to deny Swansea.

Nottingham Forest v Wycombe 2-0 If both teams Two goals from Taylor give forest a second win this week, Wycombes 3 game unbeaten streak comes to an end, it was the greatest game ever Wycombe gave it a go in the second half but couldn’t find a goal. Wycombe stay 22nd while forest are now 20th and five points clear of the relegation zone.

Rotherham v Preston 2-1 Wood and crooks for Rotherham and ledson for Preston who lose away from home for the first time this season, it is also now the 3rd defeat in a row for Preston who continue to slip down the table, rotherham remain 19th and now 5 points clear of the bottom 3. Rotherham maybe deserved the win but preston certainly had chances as well, however some of the play especially in the first half from Preston were awful.

Sheffield Wednesday v Millwall 0-0 This point moves Wednesday off the bottom of the table for the first time all season while a point sees Millwall drop to 9th, Millwall again showed just how good they are at the back and fought for a very hard point after Wednesday had the better of the game really and will wonder how they didn’t win but Millwall almost stole a very undeserved victory at the end when Smith got his header all wrong where he would usually bury it.

Watford v Coventry 3-2 Gray, Troost -Ekong and a late Sarr penalty give Watford the win after goals from Hamer and walker in the space of two minutes had seen Coventry go from a goal down to 2-1 up.
